AIM OF NSS:

• The NSS is part of our academic, social and personal life as it is the third dimension of education.
• It allows the students to actively contribute their services for the cause of community and the nation, thus helping them develop their personality.

THE NSS DAY: NSS was formally launched on 24th September, 1969

ABOUT THE NSS:

NSS was functioning in since 2018.We have 1 unit and 100 NSS Volunteers. Our aim and Duties of NSS are Temple cleaning, Health and education awareness programme, through the habit of doing service to the society self disciplines.

The objective of the NSS is “development of the personality of students through community service.”
The broad objectives of the NSS are to: –

• Understand the community in which the students work.
• Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.
• Develop competence required for collective existence and sharing of
• Responsibilities.
• Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
• Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters.
• Practice national integration and social harmony.

NSS ACTIVITIES OF 2018-2019

HEMOGLOBIN AWARENESS AND TESTING CAMP:

A hemoglobin awareness and test camp was organized on 5th Feb 2018 on our college campus.The chief guest for this occasion was our honorable chairman Mr.T.G.Mani.The special guest for this occasion given by Mr.C.R.SundarBai District Governor exam 2018-2019.Hemoglobin awareness speech was given by Mr.G.Nandha Kumar chairman of hemoglobin awareness scheme.Hemoglobin level was checked by Dr.P.Priya Medical Officer ,Primary Health Center,Akkur.

SWACHH BHARAT INTERNSHIP SCHEME:

ABOUT SWACHH BHARAT SCHEME:The prime Minister’s clarion call on 2nd October 2014 for each individual to devote at least 100 hours to swachhata through the year, the Ministry of Human Resource Development in association with the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation has launched the SwachhBharart Summer Internship

The Internship programme has been launched to engage youth across the country and develop their skills and orientation for sanitation related work and village level development. Integrate youth in the community service in rural areas in the run up to the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The duration of the Swachh Bharat Internship course is for 100 Hours(between 1st May to 31st July 2018)

ABOUT TEAM MEMBERS:

In our college we send circular about Swachh Bharat internship scheme some volunteers students register their names in online and 100 NSS volunteers also have interested to participate this internship. Students are willing to work for this scheme and they are request to our parent institution to participate in Swachh Bharat Internship ,So our management should decide all our second year students should divided into three teams each team contains 50 members to participate in this scheme.

We adopted three villages Anakkavoor, Purisai,Sengadu from 20.6.2018 to 12.7.2018.This internship scheme was organized with the help of panchayat of Anakkavoor block. The main project for this scheme was based on to make the villages free from Open defection. The Volunteers Performed many activities programmes.

KEY ACTIVITY OF THE INTERNSHIP:

The candidate to visit one or more villages and conduct activities of their choice to contribute to the cause of rural sanitation in India.As a part of the internship ,the activities that participants may conduct have been categorized into three clusters:

INFORMATION-EDUCATION-COMMUNICATION ACTIVITIES:

• Awareness Campaigns-using toilets, Hand washing and Hygiene.
  Door to Door visits.
• Nakkadnataks/street play/Swachatta related folk song/Dance Performance.
• Conducting School Level Rallies
• Organizing Movie Screenings

SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT RELATED ACTIVITIES:

• Waste Collection Drives.
• Transportation of House hold waste(to appropriate disposal site)
• Street Cleaning,Drain Cleaning
